I have purchased Epson printers for years. I was usually renewing about every 12 months or so due to the amount of printing at home I carried out, however, since changing my job this has lessened and the Epson D78 might just last a little longer. Of all the Epson purchased, I dislike this one for the following reasons: a) It is noisier than any previous models b) Getting envelopes through the feeder is a nightmare c) Quality photopaper feeding is also a major task I loved my Epson C66 (or was it Epson D66), but it was a very much mourned when it stopped working. The ink cartridges I purchased from you as Epson D78 compatible have been wonderful. The colours are superb and they have lasted a lot longer than the original Epson ink cartridges and I do a lot of printing in colour and black and white. I didn’t buy them from you but the latest lot of cartridges are half full when I am told to renew. The D78 refuses to print when it decides a cart needs replacing but when I take them out I find that there is, indeed, lots of ink remaining. As another writer complains; it is noisy; and I find is prone to paper jams. I wouldn’t buy another one of these. I have a much older Stylus Photo 915 and I love it. No problems to speak of and the photo reproduction is remarkable. The inks are also much cheaper than the D78. The problem being is that you can’t lay your hands on a 915 these days. |
I agree with a previous review that the Epsom D78 is very noisy and envelopes are a nightmare to print, as I have wasted a number I now write them by hand. The genuine Epsom cartridges are very expensive and do not last very long, but I have not had a problem with compatable ones the print is very clear. My previous printer was an old Hewlett Packard so to me this is luxury as I only do a small amount of printing. Margaret Lee |
