hello, what a great printer thedx4450 is, and the inks from internet-ink works briliently no problems. the colours in my photos are excellent they could not be better, these are the best inks by far. Colin Campbell |
i have a epson dx4450 all in one printer and i would rate it 9 out of 10 haven’t had any problems with it yet fingers crossed |
Have had my Epson Dx4450 for about 4 weeks. Print quality is ok for home use. Operation is a bit clunky & noisey. Original Epson ink cartridges are a con - the black ran out in 5 days, the colours ( used less) are about half way. Havn’t used compatible Epson ink cartridges but should be a better bet. Value - Considering only £50, must be good value by anyones standards |
Re: Epson Inkjet DX4450 I purchased this all in one printer last week, So far so good, I cannot comment on how long the ink will last, but for home usage my black is 3/4 empty and colours 3/4 full. Paid £39.99 for Printer. Which I thought good value for what it offers. From past experience of Epson printer ink and how expensive they seem. I’d much rather buy compatibles which seem to last the same at least half the price. The copier and scanner are very easy to use - and the printer it self was easy to install. It also looks good providing you don’t mind dusting often! My only dislike is the noise it makes when printing - quite clonky and seems rather a slow starter! I’d give the machine 8 out of 10 |
Since spending my hard earned money on the Epson dx4450, I am over all very happy with it, however I am very disappointed that the ink cartridges did not last that long, and that they were only half full, one would expect them to be full at the time of purchase or the box to contain vouchers as the manufacturer new the cartridges were not full. |
My Epson DX4450 is easy to set up and use. Draft quality printing is so pale it is unusable, adding considerably to ink cost. |
The Epson dx4450 printer operates ok but is slow. The quality is good and speed is less important to me as I print a lot of colour images. However, I have been unable to get it working with non-oem cartridges and I am annoyed at this. If anyone can advise me on how to get it to operate with compatible cartridges I will be delighted. regards, Shirley Muir FROM THE EDITOR :- If you experience any trouble with Epson DX4450 compatible cartridges please call our customer support team. |
I have just purchased Epson DX4450 all-in-one, and although I did some research beforehand was still not prepared for the noisiness of it. It sounds as though it is steam powered when it prints, clunks away like a steam train, also it does look very large in my little study. Previously I was using an Epson 480 printer and Canoscan scanner. I only bought this because, the price seemed o.k. and it is a stand alone photocopier, also a new digital camera prompted the purchase of a better photo printer. The ink does seem to run out at an alarming rate and as mentioned by another review I find that semi-gloss photo paper seems to give a better picture. not being really up to speed with home all-in-ones I have warmed to it gradually, but have seen an H.P. cheaper and much neater. |
Epson DX4450 all-in-one inkjet printer - two months old. Appalling machine! Noisy, inflexible, slow VERY heavy on ink (insists on showing "empty" before cartridge exhausts, but will NOT continue). Difficult to set up, colour balance difficult - comes with a "comic" user manual. User instructions on-screen are "buried" unless you already know where to look for them. Rates 1/10 simply because it can be persuaded to print something, sometimes. This machine is best suited to landfill. |
My Epson DX 4450 was such a crude device : noisy, slow, user-unfriendly, perverse to use and consumed shedloads of ink (the machine indicating ’cartridge out’ when ink clearly remained) that after 5 months, I have disposed of it. It was such a dreadful machine, that Epson’s offer of a check-out and replacement, if found to be faulty by their Service Centre, was not even slightly tempting. It was the worst piece of hardware I have ever bought. |
Nothing but trouble. It eats ink cartridges for breakfast and I’m just about to have to return the second one after only 6 weeks. It keeps telling me the ink cartridges are empty when they are not and eventaully just says thay are all empty, when they are none of them are. I’m asking for a refund tomorrow! |
Purchased this printer as I needed a scanner and copier. This replaces Epson Photo 695 which I will still use for general printing. I find the DX4450 noisy and slow to start for printing but the software for saving scanned is quite impressive and works well. For the price of less than £40.00 which includes a first set of inks (albeit in less quantity than future replacements) this is quite a bargain. It scans fast and to a high standard and prints a good photo. |
Noisy, slow, drinks ink, now telling me new cartridges are incompatible. I know it was cheap but I expected it a work for a while anyway. 0/10. |
My experience of the Epson DX4450 has been first-class and I am unable to fault this printer; in terms of value for money I do not believe that it can be beaten. |
The paper-holder is too inflexible size-wise. The ordinary DL (220 x 110) envelopes that I bought are actually just 1mm oversize. The DX4450 accepts the 221mm with great difficulty and usually graunches them. Of course it won't accept a C5 (229mm) at all, and that's ridiculous. There are disadvantages in buying on-line. Next time I'll test the paper-feed in the shop. It certainly won't be a DX4450. |
The DX4450 must be the clankiest printer I have ever used. It sounds incredibly noisy and clumsy. It is also quite slow even on the plain black and white printing. Having said that I bought it on offer and it is quite useful having the copy facility on it, and I'm sure there's lots of useful functions I haven't found yet...... |

It's so noisy that my cats levitate through the catflap every time I print anything, which takes ages on standard print, and absolutely forever if I use a better print quality. Having said all that it does everything I want it to albeit slowly and noisily (and I must change black ink pretty much every week if not more often). But it really does depend if you want speed or versatility, and in a small office space it earns it's keep. Kathryn Salt |
Brought my epson DX4450 from p.c world as part of a package, this is a good printer, but lousy on ink which runs out really quickly and also when still half full, it just keeps repeating change ink, but when you go to change it there is still some in there, also like previous printers ive had, when one ink runs out you cant use the rest till you replace the one that runs out, especially the black. would rate it 8/10 for performance and scanner 10/10. have not used epson cartridges as they are so dear but have used compatible cartridges from Internet-ink.co.uk these were very reasonable but the magneta ones leaked twice in my printer, but just ordered some more and see how i get on this time.
